SARAH FRANCES WINDSOR RUSSELL

Sarah Frances Windsor Russell, 92, of Millville, MO, died at 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Sarah was born on March 10, 1919 in Knoxville, Mo to Wilber and Laura (Beckner) Windsor. She married Robert Rowland Russell of Millville, MO on November 24, 1938. They were married for 72 years. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Robert Russell of Millville, MO, Ronnie Russell of Richmond, MO, two daughters, Carolyn Sue Coats of Millville, MO, Rosalyn Ditty and her husband Jim of Lee's Summit, MO, eight grandchildren, Sherry Olsen, Adele Zilliox, Shawn Coats, Travis Coats, Noel Johnson, Lauren Russell, Lydia Russell and Leslie Russell. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive; Codi Beth Coats, Ty Coats, Ashley Still, Caitlin Ann Still, Abigail Zilliox, Hadley Coats, Wren Coats, Elijah Coats, Isaac Coats, Wesley Coats, Ericka Johnson and Anna Rose Schultz, along with two sisters-in-law, Diana Windsor of Littleton, CO and Emma Jo Windsor of St. Joseph, MO.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by: three brothers, Roland Windsor, Harold Windsor, Paul Windsor, five sisters, Isabell Friendheim, Ethel Windsor, Mary Helen Holman, Ruth Wormsley, Virginia Kincade, two ½ brothers, John Windsor, Nethal Windsor and a ½ sister, Fleta Sanderson.
Sarah was a homemaker. She helped Rowland operate their fertilizer company, which was established in 1951. She also helped Rowland farm. She was a faithful member of the Millville United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities. She was an election judge for Ray County, MO for many years. She will be missed every Sunday as well as at our ice cream socials and fall harvest dinners. Sarah would put on her straw hat and mow the lawn while singing, "Great is Thy Faithfulness". She was a 1938 graduate of Richmond High School. She had lived in the Millville area most of her life. Sarah and all of her brothers and sisters would pick up their musical instruments and sing every night, when they were growing up.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Millville United Methodist Church.
