SHANA NICOLE CALKINS

Shana Nicole Calkins, 37, of Richmond, MO died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Excelsior Springs Hospital, Excelsior Springs, MO.
Shana was born on February 5, 1979 in Olathe, KS to John and Marilyn (Eggleston) Parton. Shana was united in marriage to Carl L. Calkins of Olathe, KS on April 12, 1997; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: their five children, Jacob, Johnathan, Serenity, Lana and Alexandria, all of the home; two brothers Tim Parton and his wife Melissa, of Gardner, KS and John Parton of Manhattan, KS and one sister Jodie Headrick and her husband Kris of Gardner, KS.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Shana was a housewife and homemaker, her greatest joy was taking care of not only her children but others children also. Shana was very active in her church with the children there. She was married to her high school sweetheart and they grew up together. Shana and Carl lived in North Carolina for four years while Carl served his country in the Marines stationed at Camp Lejeune. After North Carolina and Carl's duty to his country they returned to the area and lived in Olathe till coming to Richmond in 1997. Shana was a member of the Grace Church in Richmond.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the families choice.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Grace Church in Richmond. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date.
