Sharon Marie Bayne, 72, of Lexington, died Wednesday, August 25 th , 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Sharon was born on February 15, 1949, in Lexington, the daughter of Albert A. and Marguerite A. (Dunkle) Amer. She was united in marriage to Ronald Herman "Ronny" Bayne of Lexington on June 1, 1968. Together they enjoyed 53 years of marriage; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: son, Marc (Brittney) Bayne of Lexington; daughters, Amy (Chris) Mautino of Lee's Summit and Michelle Rector of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Beau Rector, Cade Rector, Christopher Mautino II, Audrey Bayne and Aiden Bayne; brother, Ronnie (Judy) Amer of Bates City; sisters, Sylvia Haworth and Sandy (Phillip) Harris, both of Springfield, and son-in-law, James C. Rector.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon was reared and educated in Lexington and graduated from the Lexington High School in the class of 1967. Sharon was a housewife and homemaker raising her family. She also worked outside of the home for several area banks. Sharon would go on to work in the business office at Wentworth Military Academy for 23 years until she retired. She enjoyed cross stitching, word search puzzles, going to the First Assembly of God Church with her husband and especially spending time with her children and grand-children.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at The First Assembly of God Church in Lexington with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. with services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow services in Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington.
