Shirlee V. Gott, 86, of Richmond, died on Friday, March 23, 2018 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Shirlee was born on August 5, 1931 in Lexington, Mo to Arthur and Bessie (Newell) Jenkins. She married Robert H. Gott on January 22, 1948. He preceded her on May 8, 2005
Survivors include; one daughter Lana Zeikle of Richmond; three grandchildren, Darrell (Cheryl) Jeffries of Higginsville, Tara Gottschalk of Richmond and Brande' Gott of Kansas City; 8 great grandchildren, Erin (Kyle) Morrison, Natalie Jeffries, Brittany Jeffries, Tyson Jeffries, Savannah Hamilton, Scarlett Gottschalk, Stephan (Lindsey) Gott and Justus Hall; 2 great great grandchildren, Aria Morrison and Charlie Gott.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Bruce Gott, one daughter, Deborah Kay Gott in infancy, one brother W.A. Jenkins, two sisters, Lorena Wright and Addie Marcks; son-in-law James Zeikle and companion J.D. Lee.
Shirlee retired from the Lake City Ammunition Plant after 33 years, where she held many job titles before becoming a full time homemaker. She was an avid horse enthusiast and loved competitions. For three years in a row, she was the Missouri State Champion with her beloved horse "Pride of Hobby Acres." She rode in many festival parades with a white matched pair of horses named Delight and Desire. Shirlee was a licensed pilot and enjoyed travelling. She was of the Methodist faith. Her hearts joy was her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington.
