SHIRLEY MAY HENDRIX

Shirley May Hendrix, 74, of Richmond, MO died on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
Shirley was born on May 24, 1937 in Archie, MO to John Russell and Alta Bell (McKee) Cantrell. She married Wendell Hendrix of Richmond on October 5, 1956; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include four brothers; Jay Cantrell of Liberty, MO, Calvin Cantrell of Spokane, WA, Jimmy Cantrell of El Dorado Springs, MO, and Charles (Barbara) Cantrell of Adrian, MO; and one sister, June (Jerry) Callahan of Butler, MO; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Warren Cantrell, Robert Cantrell, Jack Cantrell and Don Cantrell; and one sister, Wilma Hatcher.
Shirley was 1954 graduate of Garden City High School. After high school, she began her career in banking. She worked for 37 years at the same location now Boatman's First National Bank and retired as general bookkeeper. She had lived in Liberty until moving to Richmond in 2002. She was a member of the St. Paul's Christian Union Church near Knoxville, MO.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either St. Paul's Christian Union Church or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
