SHIRLEY MARIE MCCORKENDALE

Shirley Marie McCorkendale, 79, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond.

Shirley was born on July 9, 1935 in Dawn, MO to Troy and Cathrine (McBride) Lynn. She married Robert L. McCorkendale of Camden, MO on December 21, 1952; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one sister Barbara Houston, Roswell, GA; one daughter-in-law Linda Elford, Mission, TX; three grandchildren Rhonda Wettengel, Sheila Lee and Shannon Shipley; 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son David L. McCorkendale, one brother Donald Lynn and a sister Norma Jean Gasperino.

Shirley was well known at the Maid Rite in Lexington, MO where she had worked for several years. She was also a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She lived most of her life in the Richmond and Lexington areas.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memory Garden Cemetery in Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
