SHIRLEY EVONNE ROBERTS

Shirley Evonne Roberts, 71, of Richmond, MO, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident west of Richmond.
Shirley was born September 3, 1939 in Norborne, MO to James M. and Helen Marguerite (Hardwick) Stafford. She married Donald Lloyd Roberts of Stet, MO on August 24, 1956; he survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vicky Roberts of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Lana Evonne Spooner of Kansas City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin "Buck" and Deena Stafford of Norborne, Bobby and Julie Madison of Carrollton, MO; one sister, Dorothy Arnold of Norborne; her step-mother, Margaret Stafford of Richmond; one step-brother, Billy "Bucky" Wilson and his wife, Gail of Lexington, MO; one step-sister, Deanne Bowles and her husband, Bill of Hardin, MO; granddaughter, Amanda and her husband, Josh Howard; two great-grandchildren, Cadence and Morgan Howard; three step-grandchildren, Steve Johnson, Kristy Justus and Jeremy Judd; and five step-great-grandchildren, Ben Glenn, Kobe Glenn, Kiara Glenn, James Schwarz and A. J. Johnson.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Helen Madison, who died in infancy; and one step-sister, Carolyn Ford.
Shirley had lived in Richmond since 1959. She was a 1957 graduate of Norborne High School. She had worked as a Kitchen Aide in the Richmond School District for several years, retiring, so she could take care of her pride and joys, Cadence and Morgan. She had also worked as a Supervisor at Price Candy and had worked at Aztec Technology. She was a member of the Norborne First Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cadence and Morgan Howard Education Fund.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
