Stanley Allen Moyer, Sr., 89, of Richmond, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Stanley was born on July 22, 1929, in the Hardin bottoms to Allen and Gertrude (Wuttke) Moyer.  Stanley was first married to Mary Lou Lana of Richmond on April 15, 1950; she preceded him in death on October 29, 1998.  He then married Charlene Elizabeth Miller of Richmond on November 25, 2003; she preceded him on June 4, 2016.

Survivors include his two sons: Stanley Allen Moyer, Jr. (Karen) of Parkville and Mark A. Moyer of Richmond; six grandchildren: Dewayne (Jona) Stephens, Jon (Dena) Stephens, Scott Moyer, Christopher Moyer, Dereck Moyer, and Danny Pliler; 14 great-grandchildren: SavAnna, Joshua, Mariah, Brittany, Amanda, Brooklyn, Johnathan, Santana, Heather, Chandler, Peyton, Mellody, Natalie, and Adian; seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, his daughter Emma M. Stephens, two grandchildren: Zachary Dixon Moyer and Tonie Dawyn Stephens, his pops Enloe Dixon Pugh, and his son Robert Dean Pliler.

Stanley was reared and educated in the Richmond area.  He worked for Allis Chalmers in Independence for many years and retired in 1972.  Stanley found the Lord later in life and attended the Church of Christ in Richmond where he had many friends through Christ.  He was a man of many stories, who knew no stranger.  Stanley was an avid hunter and fisherman his whole life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church of Christ in Richmond.  They can be dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
