Starlyn Michelle
Jones
Nov 25, 1959 — Aug 17, 2026
Starlyn Michelle Jones, 66, of Richmond, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at her home.
Starlyn was born on November 25, 1959, in Springfield, the daughter of Dale and Patricia (Buster) Jones.
Survivors include: two sons, Christopher Stecz of Independence and John Stecz, IV; daughter, Kenna Stecz (Tad Schnakenberg) of Blue Springs; two grandchildren, Ayden Covington and Athena Schnakenberg; and two brothers, Jeff (Patti) Jones and Greg Jones. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Morris.
Starlyn attended high school and was raised with a Christian faith and a love for Jesus that she carried throughout her life. She found great joy in the simple things and enjoyed quilting, gardening, coloring, canning, and cooking. She especially loved working with her hands and creating things that could be enjoyed and shared with those around her.
Starlyn also treasured the friendships she shared with the ladies in her small community. She enjoyed their companionship and the special bond that comes from living in a close-knit community where neighbors become friends and friends become like family. She valued those relationships and the time spent visiting, laughing, and simply enjoying one another's company.
Throughout her life, Starlyn worked hard to care for both her physical and mental well-being. She was determined to be the best version of herself she could be, not only for herself, but for the people she loved so dearly. That strength and determination were an important part of who she was.
More than anything, Starlyn loved her family and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. She was an amazing mother and granny, roles she carried with tremendous love and pride. Her grandchildren were incredibly precious to her, and the time she shared with them brought her some of her greatest happiness. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Pearl, who was a treasured companion.
Starlyn will be remembered for her deep faith, her strength and determination, the friendships she cherished, and above all, the tremendous love she had for her family. The love she gave as a mother and granny, along with the many simple, everyday things that made her life full, will remain a cherished part of her family's memories of her.
