STEVEN DALE STREET

Steven Dale Street, 61, of Stet, MO died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born on February 17, 1955 in Trenton, MO to Vernon and Thelma (Warner) Street.  He married Sherry Mullins of Humphreys, MO on August 10, 1975; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Brad and Kristina Street of Kearney, MO and their daughter, Harper Ava Street and Daniel and Jaclyn Street of Gallatin, MO who are expecting their daughter, Ellison Nora Street in March 2017; one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Charles Boren of La Plata, MO; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Street.

Steve was reared and graduated from Grundy County R-V High School in 1973.  He then attended and graduated from Trenton Junior College in 1975 and Northwest Missouri State University in 1977 with a degree in Education.  Steve received his Masters of Education degree from Central Missouri State University in 1983.  Steve began his career in 1977 teaching physical education and coaching at Stet R-XV High School.  Steve became Principal at Stet in 1982 and was principal until he retired in 2008.  While teaching he taught driver's education at Chillicothe for 13 summers. Steve was a Stet volunteer fireman for several years.  He grew up in the Humphreys, Mo area before moving to the Stet area in 1977.  Steve was a member of the Humphreys Christian Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Diabetes Association or to the Stet Fire Department.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
