SUSIE I. GAMEL

Susie I. Gamel, 97, of Odessa, MO, died at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the Golden Living Center – New Haven in Odessa.
Susie was born November 26, 1912 in Buffalo, MO to Gilliam and Fannie (Melton) Southard. She married George Gamel of Buffalo on June 11, 1930; he died October 16, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Glen Gamel of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Elsie Foose; two brothers, Charley Southard and Pete Southard; four sisters, Cecie Bridgemen, Nola Nunn, Rueanna McCaslin and Hazel Southard; and one grandson, Leland Williams.
Susie and George attended the Reynolds Missionary Baptist Church in rural Buffalo for more than 50 years. After the death of her husband she moved to Richmond before moving to Odessa in 2004. She was a member of the Richmond Christian Union Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Christian Union Church.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Inurnment will be at a later date in Reynolds Cemetery, Buffalo, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
