THOMAS CLARK "T.C." HEWLETT
Thomas Clark "T.C." Hewlett, 78, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home.
T.C. was born on September 5, 1939 in Henrietta, MO to Robert Marion and Alpha Marie (McCanless) Hewlett. He married Doris Marguerite Kubler of Berlin Germany, while T.C. was stationed in Germany on May 14, 1965. Together they returned to the United States in 1966, along with their son, Tommy Hewlett. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2014.
Survivors include; one son, Tom Hewlett (Debbie) of Knoxville, TN; one daughter, Tracey Hewlett (Glen Parkes) of Richmond; one brother, Bobby Hewlett (Peggy) of Richmond; sisters, Linda Hicks of Henrietta, Sharon Hritz (Mark) of Benton, AR and Rita Day (Charles) of Henrietta; 6 grandchildren, Nick Hewlett (Jasmine), Cortnie Hewlett, Jessie Hewlett, Char Welch, Megan (Brad) Butler and Garrett Hewlett; 2 great- granddaughters, Sophie Marie Hewlett and Marliegh Rose Hewlett; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Rusty also survives.
In addition to his parents and wife, T.C. was preceded in death by, Ray and Betty Davis; Bill and Emma Hambrick; and Merlin Hicks.
T.C. was a United States Army Veteran where he was a Sharp Shooter and Honor Guard for President Kennedy while in Germany. T.C. worked for Allis Chalmers as Mechanical Engineer doing field testing of their equipment such as combines and tractors. After he retired from Allis Chalmers in 1989 he immediately started farming for Larry and Linda Hicks (Sand Prairie Farms) before retiring from farming in 2016. T.C. enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. T.C. enjoyed going to his grandkids sporting events, family reunions and was especially close to his grandson, Garrett. He was known to be very meticulous with his man cave (garage) where everything had its place and always said,
"You better put it back when you're done." He had a very special and loving relationship with his wife without even talking.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Dockery Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. Online condolences maybe left on our website atWednesday
