THOMAS ROBERT REAVIS, SR.
Thomas Robert Reavis, Sr., 83, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO, surrounded by lots of loved ones.
Tommy was born on January 3, 1931 in Taitsville, MO to John T. and Mamie (Holder) Reavis. He married Anna Mae Houston of Excelsior Springs, MO in 1965; she preceded him in death on September 13, 1989.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas R. Reavis, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Maple Grove, MN and Donald Reavis of Richmond; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Ann and Tim Danner of Richmond, Kimberly Bell of Richmond, Debra Reavis of Minneapolis, MN and Diane and Joseph Dudzik of Quemado, TX; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Joyce Stewart of Lebanon, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lota Jakobe and Tom of Kansas City, MO, Sheila and Jack Carroll of Lexington, MO; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; loving family who raised Tommy, George and Faye Stewart; best friend, pastor William C. Boyd of Richmond. Several nieces, nephews and his church family also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, Tommy was preceded in death by one son, Max Eugene Lucas, Jr.; one daughter, Marcia O'Doniel; four brothers, Donald Reavis, Russell Reavis, John Stewart and George "G.G" Stewart; and two sisters, Faye Reavis and Goldie "Mary" Watkins.
Tommy was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Construction worker. He was a member of the Heavy Construction Workers Union Local #663 of Kansas City. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #237 in Richmond. Tommy was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Richmond. He had lived in Richmond most of his life. Tommy loved to dance.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Assembly of God Church in Richmond.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Richmond. Visitation will Friday, June 13, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
