VERA A. NICHOLS

Vera A. Nichols, 85, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Shirkey Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Vera was born on March 2, 1931 in Ava, MO to Glen Johnny and Della Jane (Pratt) Workman. She married Clarence A. "Nick" Nichols of Richmond on July 27, 1979. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2015.

Survivors include five sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Margie Brazeal of Independence, MO, DonalDean and Linda Brazeal of Overland Park, KS, Johnny Joe Smith and Perry Small and his friend, Teresa Kesterson of Richmond; two daughters, Della Jane Smith and Sally Ann Tuttle of Richmond; one sister, Regina Brazeal of Kansas City, MO; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by one son, Elton Ray Brazeal.

Vera was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She lived in Kansas City before moving to Richmond 8 years ago. Vera was a good story teller. She loved her family, all babies and singing.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Washington Cemetery in Kansas City, MO at a later date. Online condolences maybe left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
