VIOLA GRACE "VIDA" ELLIS BOST
Vida Bost, 94, of Hardin, MO died at 8:21 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.
Vida was born on June 9, 1916 in Hardin to Olan and Lola (Seward) Lentz. She first married R.W. "Dub" Ellis of Lexington, MO on June 9, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1975. She later married Herschel Bost of Lexington on December 3, 1978. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1996.
Survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law, Gary and Gloria Ellis of Hardin, Tony and Patie Ellis of Richmond and Kirk and Linda Ellis of Hardin; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Rob Ellis of Hardin, Chris and Emily Ellis of Richmond, Bret and Heather Ellis of Richmond, Devon and Steven Cromley of Columbia, MO, Teresa and Troy Banning of Richmond, Angie and Nate Quick of Richmond and Warren and Marni Ellis of Overland Park, KS; 14 great-grandchildren, Rae Ellis, Olivia Ellis, Jeff Ellis, Callie Ellis, Caynen Ellis, Carleigh Ellis, Kinley Ellis, Gavin Miranda, Carsyn Cromley, Trey Banning, Tristyn Banning, Brook Ellis, Kennedy Quick and Robert Warren Ellis III.; one brother, Denzal Lentz of Raytown, MO, one step-son, Steven Bost of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl; one step-son-in-law, Paul Ballew of Lexington; two step-daughters, Gloria and Dr. Mark Rose of Richmond and Connie Bost of Lexington also survives.
In addition to her parents, Vida was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Lentz, Dorris Lentz, Glen Lentz and Ivan Lentz; four sisters, Marie Huston, Eunice Bailey, Eleanor Fern Happy and Wilma Chester; and one step-daughter, Vickie Ballew.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin First Baptist Church.
Vida was a teacher in several school districts before retiring from the Hardin School District in 1968. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hardin Baptist Church. She and Dub were Owners and Operators of the Skating Rinks in Hardin and Carrollton for 25 years. She was a lifelong Hardin resident.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hardin First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery in Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
