VIRGIL E. BRESHEARS, SR.
Virgil E. Breshears, Sr., 68, of Lexington, MO, died at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO.
Virgil was born on March 3, 1942 in Marshall, MO to Harley S. and Norma (Newton) Breshears. He married J. Eilene Harmon of Richmond, MO on June 30, 1962. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Virgil E. and Michele Breshears, Jr. of Lexington, MO, an adopted son, Ron Carper and his wife Kimberly of Fairborn, Ohio, one daughter, Mary Teichman of Lexington, MO, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy and Art Studler of Marshall, MO, Virginia Jackson of Richmond, MO, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Breshears Carper.
Virgil worked as a police officer for the Richmond Police Department from 1976 to 1978. He was a police officer for the Lafayette, Colorado Police Department from 1978 to 1989. He was a deputy for the Ray County Sheriff's Department from 1989 to 2001.
He was a member of the Missouri Sheriff's Association. He was a member of the Ray County Drug Task Force. He attended the Lexington First Baptist Church. He had lived in Richmond, MO and Lafayette, CO before moving to Lexington, MO seven years ago.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Memorial Hospital Relay for Life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
