Obituary

Virginia B. Hopkins, 91, of Richmond died on Friday, April 20, 2018 at her home at Oak Ridge in Richmond.

Virginia was born on June 15, 1926 in Lawson, MO to Virgil and Edith B. (Vinyard) O'Dell. She married Edward Hopkins of Camdenton, on April 8, 1961.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 2012.

Survivors include; nephews, Jack O'Dell and his wife, Kathy of Orrick, MO and Dale O'Dell of Orrick; and niece, Teresa Bishop and her husband, Rick of Chicago, IL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Lee O'Dell and Tommy Dee O'Dell.

Virginia and her husband were owner and operators of Hopkins Supermarket in Camdenton from 1963 to 1999.  They later owned and operated a citrus and orange grove in Texas from 1979 to 1999.  Virginia loved living in Texas with all her friends and loved working in the citrus groves.  She enjoyed crocheting and would make caps for children in the hospital.  She lived in LaFeria, TX and Elsa,TX before moving to Richmond in 2012.  Virginia was of the Christian faith.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Shirkey's Hospice or to the Orrick United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  On line condolences maybe left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
