Virginia Lee Larson, 96, of Richmond died Friday, March 16, 2018 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty.

Virginia was born December 11, 1921 in Richmond, the daughter of William Andrew and Maude (Thompson) Blair.  She was united in marriage to Orwen Rex Larson on November 11, 1937; he preceded her in death on June 4, 2006.

Virginia worked as a sales person for Famous-Barr, a subdivision of Macy's for 37 years in St. Louis.  She returned to her hometown of Richmond and has lived here the past 30 years.  She worked at Walmart for a few years while in Richmond.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Richmond and a member of the VFW and American Legion Axillary.

She is survived by two nieces, Norma Kendrick of Excelsior Springs and  Linda Carter of Stockton and several other distant family members.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son Steven, one brother Benny and four sisters, Orie, Betty, Juanita and Geneva.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery, Richmond.  Online condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
