VIRGINA E. "COWBOY" WALKER

Virginia E. Walker, 71, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
Virginia was born on August 12, 1942 in Ray County, MO to James Harold and Georgia Mae (Hutton) Davis.
Survivors include; her significant other, George "Slocum" Pollard of Liberty, MO; five daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Folley of Richmond; Lynn Folley Breaux and her husband, Joe of Austin, TX; Janice Carter and her husband, Bryon of St. Louis, MO; Robin Walker of Austin, TX; Toni Walker Levise and her husband, Curtis of Austin, TX; one brother, James Harold Davis, Jr "Sonny" of Richmond; one sister, Joann Boxley of Raytown, MO; 8 grandchildren, Keyvon, Tasha, Rodrick, Ashley, Rayana, Dorel James, Consuela and Brandi; 9 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Sherri Bell of Kansas City, MO; cousin-brother, Rev. Lloyd Fields and his wife, Arlene of Kansas City; and her God sisters, Veronica Thaxton of Richmond; Karrie Fields and her husband, Matt of Richmond; Theresa Habernal and her husband, Ron of Liberty, MO, Wanda Williams of and Toni Lowe, both of Kansas City.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Walker, her former finance, John Bentley; and her infant brother, William Hutton.
Virginia had worked at various places over the years; including a Nurse's Aide at Shirkey's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Supervisor at Higginsville State School, Lake City Arsenal and Quality Control at Henkel where she retired. Virginia loved to volunteer work, loved to travel, bowling and was an active faithful member of the Second Baptist Church, where she served in many different capacities. Virginia was a member of the Rebecca Chapter #27 of the O.E.S. for over 30 years. She served as secretary for over 17 years and served as Worthy Matron for 4 years. She was an honorary member of the Lone Star Chapter #102 O.E.S. in Kansas City, MO. She was a Past Grand Charity Secretary, order of the Harmony Grand Chapter and had served as a Board Representative for 15 years. She was a High Priestess of¬¬¬¬¬ Allah Court #6 Daughters of Isis in Kansas City, MO.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Virginia E. Walker memorial fund.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Richmond. Visitation will Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, and also prior to services from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star Service on Saturday afternoon at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Daughter of Isis Service at 12:00 p.m. both prior to the Funeral. Interment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. Dinner will be served at the VFW building, at 312 Clark Street in Richmond, after the interment.
