Walter Benjamin Holyfield, Jr., 86, formerly of Richmond, died on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Lee's Summit Point Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Walter was born on June 20, 1934, in Springfield, AR, the son of Walter Benjamin and Pairlee (Williams) Holyfield, Sr. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Jean Hurst of Kansas City on February 23, 1985; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: son, Steven Holyfield of Kansas City; three stepsons: Douglas (Fang) Bryan, David (Angela) Bryan, both of Kansas City, and Drew Bryan of Parkville; daughter Kerry (Ronald) Henley of Lafayette, CO; two stepdaughters, Diana (Dale Stewart) Bryan of Richmond and Daphne (Kirk Decker) Bryan of Lawson; sister, Halajean Martin of Morrilton, AR; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, John Holyfield, and daughter, Scarlett Green.
Walter worked for 38 years as a machinist for TWA. He enjoyed country music and gardening and lived in Richmond for over 30 years. Walter was a loving man and will especially missed by his family and friends.
