WESLEY J. WHITE

Wesley J. White, 85, of Richmond, MO, died on Saturday August 9, 2014 at his home.
Wes was born on December 12, 1928 in Electra, TX to Wiley Wasdin and Ruby Pearl (Vincent) White. He married Betty Pennington of Cooper Hill, MO on March 19, 1948. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2000. He later married Vera J. Pettijohn of Union Star, MO on February 17, 2001. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Sandie White of Lenexa, KS, Ron and Melinda White of Rayville, MO and Alan and Linda White of Richmond, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Steve Fletcher of Orrick, MO; one sister, Wanda Fern Huggins of Richmond, MO; one step-son, Kit Lowrance of Tukwalla, WA; two step- daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Derek Vreeland of St. Joseph, MO and Katie and Yvan Jean-Louis of Forrestside, Mauritius; nine grandchildren, Shaunna White, Teresa Wykert, Shannon White, Brandon White, Jolie Foreman, Ryan White, Lindsay Fletcher, Melissa Fletcher and Justin Fletcher; 12 great-grandchildren, seven step- grandchildren and six step- great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Wes was preceded in death by three brothers; Wasdin LeRoy White, Manford T. White and Emerson Dale White; and one step- granddaughter, Rachelle Ficken.
Wes was an assembler for Ford Motor Company for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He was also a driver for Ray County Transportation for 13 years. He was a member of U.A.W. Union local #249. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #57 A.F. and A.M. He was a member of the Richmond Shrine Club and Ararat Temple. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows. Wes had lived in Belle, Mo before moving to Richmond in 1959.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Richmond Masonic Lodge or to the American Cancer Society.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, where masonic services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the College Hill Cemetery near Belle, Mo at 11:00 a.m. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
