WILLARD E. HUFFMAN
Willard E. Huffman, 94, of Richmond, MO died on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Lexington Care Center in Lexington, MO.
Mr. Huffman was born on April 1, 1917 in Novinger, MO in Adair County to Rollie David and Ollie Belle (Walters) Huffman. He married (Betty) Elizabeth Louise Porter of Kirksville, MO on June 15, 1938 and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include, one son Thomas H. Huffman and his wife Barbara of Thrall TX; two daughters Carrie Jean Ireland of Ozark, MO and Willa F. Gilliam and her husband John of Rayville, MO; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Huffman and his wife Cindy, Kimbra Hunter and her husband Kevin, Stephanie Turner and her husband Kennie, Heather Weter and her husband Michael, Mike Gilliam and his wife Connie, and Jesse Gilliam and his wife Deanna; 7 great grandchildren; 5-step great grandchildren and 3 step-great great grandchildren.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Ralph Huffman and Harold Rex Huffman, one sister Marguerite Swafford, one granddaughter Christine Gilliam and one great granddaughter Emma Gilliam.
Mr. Huffman was raised and educated in the Kirksville area. He had various careers during his lifetime. He had owned and operated a trailer park in Grand Junction, CO, owned and operated Red Roost Restaurant in Camdenton, MO, and worked as a purchasing agent for Chrysler Motors and Livers Bronze Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond and has lived in Richmond for the past six years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, MO. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
