William B. "Bill" North, of Norborne, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Bill was born on September 23, 1932, in Stet, MO, the beloved son of Merle B. and Belva (Peters) North.

He graduated from Norborne High School and later attended the University of Missouri.  Bill served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Suzanne Knipschild, of Norborne, MO, on October 7, 1961.

Bill worked for Sinclair Oil and then Southwest Grease and Oil, before returning to the family farm and grain elevator business after the death of his father.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne, both parents, sister, Mary Jane, brother, William Robert, and other family.

He is survived by his son, David B. North of Norborne, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
