William "Bill" Edgar, 73, of Jonesboro Arkansas, originally from Richmond, MO. passed away October 25, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, after fighting Prostate Cancer.
Bill was born February 6, 1951, in Lexington, MO. He was the son of James D. Edgar Sr. and Nell Jo (Bunch) Edgar. (Preceded him in death)
Bill was united in marriage to Sharon Stapleton in 1973, later to divorce, however they remained close friends, and she was very involved in his fight with cancer.
Survivors include: daughter, Bridget Vinson (Corey) from Orlando Fl; son, Billy Bob Edgar (Carissa) from Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandson, Austin Vinson (Ashley); granddaughter, Keerstin Edgar; two brothers, James D. Edgar, Jr (Cheryl) from Richmond, MO, and Mark A. Edgar (Pam) from Camdenton, MO; two sisters, Pamela Hilker from Richmond, MO, and Deborah Woessner from Talbott, Tennessee.
Many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Bill was raised and educated in Richmond, MO, graduating with the class of 1969. In 1970, Bill was drafted into the Army, where he was stationed in Germany. After serving his country, he returned to Richmond, MO, to start a career as a Mechanic for 20 years. Bill served three terms as the Eastern Commissioner of Ray County. Bill worked for Edgar's Roofing for 15 years.
Bill was passionate about 3 things:
His granddaughter, Keerstin Edgar. He moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas, 12 years ago to live out his life and to be close to his granddaughter.
He loved the game of Golf, while he might not have been the best golfer in the group, that did not stop him from loving the game.
Bill was a great dancer, especially line dancing, you could see him on the dance floor with all friends at Denim and Diamonds.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Lynn., and his niece, Jenni Edgar.
Memorial services will be held at the Richmond Christian Chapel on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 5:00 P.M.
