WILLIAM E. "BILL" WILLIAMS
William E. "Bill" Williams, 84, of Richmond, MO, formerly of Camden, MO died Friday, January 1, 2016 at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO.
Bill was born on December 7, 1931 at Camden, one of eight children born to Emmett and Minnie (Duncan) Williams. He married Shirley Ann O'Neal of Camden on September 23, 1954; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son, Brian Williams and his significant other (Shawn Sexton) of Crystal Lakes, MO; one daughter, Peggy Hewlett and her husband, Bobby of Richmond; two grandchildren: Mandy Hewlett and Robbie (Erin) Hewlett; and one great grandson, Colton Hewlett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Vickie Williams, five brothers Harold, Roy, Robert, Melvin, Joe; and two sisters Eva Stratton and Mary Jane King.
Bill was a 1949 graduate of Camden High School. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War. He worked for 30 years at Ford Motor Company and retired in 1982. While at Ford he was a member of the UAW Local No. 249 since 12/05/51. Bill was a Mason and a member of the Ray Lodge No. 223 since 1965. He was also a member of the VFW Post 4398, a member of the Camden United Methodist Church, and a honorary warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of the Boy Scouts of American.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Camden United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Camden United Methodist Church in Camden, MO. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond with a Masonic Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. prior to visitation. Interment will be in Cravens Cemetery East of Camden, MO. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans.
