Wilma was a wonderful cook for over 40 years at Woodson Dear School, and her cinnamon rolls, bread pudding, and orange slice cookies—one recipe even being published—were cherished family favorites.  When she wasn't in the kitchen, she enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and dominoes (she was named 'domino queen' because she was always winning).  She belonged to a special Hand and Foot Club for over 40 years.  Over the years, she belonged to several card clubs and was an active member of the Extension for over 70 years, F.E.C. Club (awarded the heart award), the Red Hats Club, both in Richmond, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Ray County Hospital Gift Shop.  She also proudly served as a 4-H leader for over 40 years.

Wilma was of the Christian faith and was a devoted and active grandmother, faithfully attending and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Shirkey Hospice.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
